Tiny Trekkers was born in Taupō from a belief that the best things we can give our children are time, nature, and the knowledge of how to care for both.
We don’t see adventure as a weekend activity. We see it as a responsibility — an opportunity to guide our tamariki (children) to understand the taiao (environment) and the part they play in protecting it. We are parents, explorers, and everyday kaitiaki. We show up as role models for responsible adventure — moving with intention, honouring the whenua (land) we stand on, and teaching our tamariki to tread lightly.
When families hire gear from us or join our community, they’re not just preparing for a trip. They’re stepping into a way of being where connection, care, and respect weave through every journey.
Tiny Trekkers is not a brand you simply follow...
A movement of families raising the next generation of guardians — tamariki who grow up knowing that their relationship with the taiao is reciprocal, meaningful, and sacred.
We cherish nature for our wellbeing. We explore so our tamariki can grow up understanding their role in protecting it. We share our exploration of our taiao so others can learn from it, care for it, and pass on its stories.
Every tiny trek leaves a lasting footprint.
Every family that explores with us deepens our connection to the taiao.
Every child connected to nature becomes a future kaitiaki.
